When I am feeling stressed, anxious, sad, or complete anguish, I like to read verses that remind me that I am not alone in feeling that way. I am not the first person, nor the last, to feel low moods. Neither are you. That’s why there are so many verses for us to turn to during rough times.
When your heart is troubled, whether it is a bit of anxiety or the depths of despair, here are some verses that will speak to your heart. Some of them will help describe how you feel and provide comfort because they are relatable. And the rest are wonderful Scriptures to meditate on for hope, encouragement and healing.
My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; the deep closed around me; weeds were wrapped around my head. The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer went up to You. Jonah 2:2, 5-7
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. Luke 6:21

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalm 9:9-10
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5
Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:6-7
